How to set up and use BidWise in your Shopify store
BidWise adds a "Make an Offer" button to your product pages so shoppers can submit custom price offers. You review and respond from your Shopify admin, and the app handles the rest: sending checkout links, managing emails, and tracking every offer.
After installing BidWise, open the home screen and click "Open theme editor." This takes you directly to your active theme. Enable the BidWise app block on the product template and save. The offer button will appear on your product pages immediately.
If you want to limit the button to specific products or collections, you can use offer rules (see below) to control where offers are accepted.
BidWise has three plans:
Starter (Free): No monthly fee. BidWise takes 1% of each accepted offer (capped at $200/month). Best for stores getting started or with lower offer volume.
Growth ($19/month): 0.5% commission capped at $200/month. Includes an analytics dashboard to track offer performance over time.
Pro ($49/month): Flat monthly fee with no commission. Includes everything in Growth plus the ability to fully customize buyer email templates with your own copy and branding.
You can switch plans at any time from the home screen.
Offer rules let you automate how BidWise responds to incoming offers so you do not have to review every one manually.
Each rule has a scope and an action:
Scope controls which products the rule applies to:
Action controls what happens when an offer comes in:
Rules are checked from most specific to least specific. A rule on a specific variant takes priority over a rule on its product, which takes priority over a store-wide rule.
A common setup is a store-wide manual review rule as the default, with auto-accept rules on specific products where you are comfortable accepting offers above a floor price.
For example: auto-accept any offer above $80 on a jacket that lists at $120, while all other products go to manual review.
Go to Settings in the BidWise navigation and open the Offer Rules section. Click "Add rule," choose a scope, set your action and price threshold, and save.
Offers that reach you for manual review appear in the Offers list. Each offer shows the product, variant, quantity, the buyer's offered price, and the list price.
You have three options:
Accept: The buyer receives a secure, personal checkout link by email at the price you agreed to. Once they complete payment, the order appears in your Shopify admin ready to fulfill.
Decline: The buyer receives a polite decline email. No further action is needed.
Counter offer: Enter a price between the buyer's offer and your list price. The buyer receives an email with a link to accept or decline your counter. Counter offers expire after a time you set. If the buyer accepts, they get a checkout link automatically.
BidWise sends emails to buyers and to you at each step of the offer lifecycle. All emails go out automatically, you do not need to do anything.
Buyer emails:
Merchant emails:
You can configure your merchant email address and toggle merchant notifications on or off in Settings.
On the Pro plan, you can edit the subject line and body of every buyer-facing email. Go to Email Templates in the navigation, choose a template, and edit the content. Templates support merge variables like {{shopName}}, {{productTitle}}, and {{offerAmount}} which are filled in automatically when the email is sent.
The Analytics page shows a summary of offer activity over a selected date range:
Use this to understand which products attract the most negotiation and how your pricing rules are performing over time.
Can I use BidWise on specific products only?
Yes. Add a store-wide rule set to "do not accept" and then add separate rules on the specific products or collections where you want to receive offers.
What happens if a buyer does not complete checkout?
The offer stays in an accepted state. The checkout link does not expire. You can resend the invoice from the offer detail page if needed.
Can a buyer submit multiple offers?
Yes, but each one is tracked separately. You can review and respond to each individually.
Does BidWise work with Shopify discounts or gift cards?
Accepted offers create a Shopify draft order at the agreed price. Standard Shopify discounts and gift cards are not applied at checkout since the price is already set by the offer.
How does the commission work?
On Starter and Growth plans, BidWise charges a small commission on the revenue from accepted offers, billed through Shopify's usage billing. The commission is calculated on the accepted offer price, not the list price. It is capped at $200 per month.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, at any time from the home screen. If you switch to a lower plan mid-cycle, the change takes effect immediately.
